Meet Kendyl, BCBA, Behavior Analyst
Kendyl is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at the Infinity Center for Behavior Services. She started in September 2018 as our first Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
In her BCBA position, Kendyl designs individualized treatment plans for her clients based on the child’s current skill level and their family’s social goals. Kendyl adds, “I am always engaging with the kids and pairing myself with reinforcement. If you visit the center, odds are you will find me acting like a goofball. That’s what it looks like on the surface, but what I am really doing is contriving opportunities for the clients to strengthen their skills. I am also modeling creative ways for technicians to engage with the kids, while implementing their treatment plans.”
The kids take the cake when it comes to her favorite part of the job. “I could be having a hard day and all it takes to lift my spirits is seeing the kids smile and laugh!”
Kendyl’s motivation and passion for this field stems from her own life experience. At the age of four, she received a diagnosis of ADHD. Kendyl spent many years wondering why things came easier to her peers. However, in high school, she participated in a program that taught her how to advocate for herself. Kendyl learned how to improve her organization, communication, comprehension, and study skills. In college, she decided to pay it forward to help other people. She changed her major to clinical psychology and the rest is history!
At the Infinity Center, Kendyl enjoys constantly learning and growing as a BCBA and a supervisor. She appreciates that the role pushes her out of her comfort zone. Kendyl is a newlywed with many hobbies, including crafting, singing, and spending time with family and friends.
