This month, our Director of Children’s Services, Kristen Colyer, BCBA attended the National Autism Conference at Penn State University. The conference provides comprehensive, evidence-based information to assist educators, other professionals, and families in developing effective educational programming for all individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Social Skills Evening Program For Children Ages 5-8
|

|
Enroll your child in our evening program to help develop their social skills. We teach how to play with others, problem-solve, and have conversations with peers. The group meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at our Harford County center. Contact us to learn more about this year-round program!

Eight Tips to Help Prepare Your Child for Vacation

Now that summer is over, you’re probably starting to plan for your end-of-year vacation(s). We have you covered with advice to help prepare your child. Traveling and vacations can be a wonderful way to unwind, relax, and make memories as a family. For families with a member on the spectrum, vacation may sound daunting, stressful, and scary. Good news: Traveling can actually help establish generalization of skills, access to new environments, and maybe open our eyes to some additional skills that need to be taught! Check out our eight tips to help your vacation run smoothly:
Tip 1: Start small.
Tip 2: Try to maintain some sort of routine.
Tip 3: Consider your child’s communication needs.
Tip 4: Talk about it!
Tip 5: Bring reinforcement.

Welcome to the Team, Jacquelyn
|
|
Jacquelyn is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida. Jacquelyn has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis for four years. From 2019-2022 she was a Registered Behavior Technician providing home services for children on the autism spectrum. Jacquelyn received her Behavior Analyst Certification in June of 2022 and provided in-home services for a year to children and adolescents, ages 4-15 with ASD and their families across Tampa and Saint Petersburg, Florida. She moved to Maryland in June of 2023 and is excited to grow her experience as a BCBA at the Infinity Center. Jacquelyn is passionate about using the science of ABA to improve the quality of life of others, promote their independence, and increase opportunities for effective communication.
