ABA Moment: What is a Mand?
|

At the Infinity Center, we incorporate early learning milestones that are essential to your child's development. Communication is one of the most important skills we gradually develop as humans. In Behavior Analysis, asking for the things we want or need is called to "mand." It is the first type of verbal behavior young children acquire. Manding is a key part of communication, which we use throughout our lives. Mand training serves as a foundation for building more complex and advanced communication skills. Additionally, mand training makes social interactions more valuable. It is essential and should be a central focus in all verbal behavior programs.
